Arline Walker has devoted her career to nursing and hospital administration. She is a graduate of Salve Regina University with a BSN in Nursing and an MS in health services administration. She is also a graduate from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. |

Frank R. Walker III, Frank R. Walker III, Len Walker, Sr.’s brother, has enjoyed a long career in education as a teacher and administrator. He spent more than 25 years at the Rhode Island Department of Education serving in various capacities including: director of Personnel and Directors of Equity and Access. While at the Department of Education, he was involved in assisting the Department and local school districts in the development and implementation of policies, regardless of race, gender, national origin or disability. He also managed the Department’s 1200 member workforce. While on leave from the Rhode Island Department of Education, he was a lead investigator for the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights. Prior to his time at the Rhode Island Department Education, he was involved with teaching, first as a high school English teacher, and later as a pre-vocational instructor. A graduate of Providence College, he pursued postgraduate studies at New York University and Rhode Island College. He is presently a Commissioner of the Martin Luther King, Jr., State Holiday Commission, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Leonard E. Walker, Sr. Golf Scholarship Program and past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Credit Union. He has served on the Boards of the Rhode Island Chapter of the March of Dimes, the Governor’s Commission on Disabilities, the Board of Trustees of Gibbs College, The Genesis Center, and National Committee on School Desegregation. Numerous groups and organizations have recognized him including: the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon, National Alliance of Business, Rhode Island Commission on Women, National Education Association, AMERICORP, and Brown University. The father of two, and proud grandfather of five, he lives in Cranston with his wife, Jane. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Renee M. Walker is a product of the Providence public School System. She graduated from classical High school where she was Honorable mention All-State basketball player and an All-Class volleyball player. She was the al Morro Award winner and the Providence Journal-Bulletin Scholar Athlete nominee in 1987. She became the first Black female to be inducted in the Classical High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. Walker received her undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College, graduating with High honors in Elementary Education. While ar RIC, she was an All-Little East performer, and the first 3-year captain of the basketball team. She completed her graduate work at University of Rhode Island as a member of Providence’s first Aspiring Principals class in 2004. Walker now teaches sixth grade science at Esek Hopkins Middle School in Providence. She has been a 3-time Who’s Who in American Educators, a 2-time nominee for Providence’s Teacher of the Year, a nominee for the state’s Milken Award (state’s top teacher), and a Walt Disney Teacher of the Year nominee. She is currently a liason between her school and the Providence After School Alliance, a part-time employee of the Providence Recreation Department, and a member of the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Committee. |

Len Walker, Jr is Len Sr.'s oldest son, and has been involved in the Scholarship Fund effort until he took a step back to start his own business in 2013. He is now Senior Sales Agent and Partner with Healthcare Solutions Team in Chicago, IL, with an office in New Bedford, MA. Len is a devoted family man, and married to Sarah Walker for 33 years this April. Len and Sarah are beginning to enjoy their empty nest, as their son Lenny III was married last August to Christine Eubanks, and their daughter Marissa now lives and works in Atlanta, GA. Len has enjoyed a 30+ year career in business management and sales with companies including Time Inc., The Boston Globe, and The American Red Cross Blood Services. Len is originally from Providence, RI. After attending Providence College, work soon took Sarah and Len to St. Louis, MO for 10 years, before having the opportunity to move back home to New England in 1999. They settled in Mansfield, MA., where they have lived for 18 years. Len enjoys all styles of music, golf & the beach, spending time on Martha's Vineyard whenever he gets the chance. |

Debra Souza Debra grew up in the Providence and Pawtucket RI areas. She has been employed by Brown University for over 37 years. She is a current member of the Brown working group for Diversity and Inclusion. Previously, she worked for the Pawtucket YMCA from 2010-2016. For over 13 years, Debra has been a board member on the Leonard E. Walker scholarship committee. She oversees the auction/raffle efforts for the golf tournament and other fundraising events.Her passion is helping Rhode Island’s inner-city youths to get involve in summer programs, sports, after school programs, and to reach their dreams of going to college and beyond. |

Mark Walker , Mark walker, Len Walker, Sr.’s nephew, is a proud product of the Providence Public Schools Department, graduating from Classical High School in 1983. He is currently a Sales Specialist at Audi Warwick and Bentley Providence. In addition to mentoring at the Met, he is also the Parent of a Met Graduate, Jordan Murphy Walker - Class of 2004. |

Elayne Walker-Cabral, In Memorium is Leonard’s only daughter. She has spent 30 years serving her community in the health and education fields. She was on the team who planned the Met at the Big Picture Company 14 years ago. She is now the Director of the Met Community School where she works with students, staff, families and the community to provide programs that help us learn and grow. She has played many roles in the development of the tournament and the scholarship but calls it a Labor of Love! She is married to Butch Cabral and has four step children and four grandchildren. |
